ICAR CIFT developed a method to modify the non polar polyethylene surface using Polyaniline. Aquaculture cage nets are fabricated mainly by polyethylene or polypropylene materials and the surfaces are highly non polar. Hence it is difficult to coat any effective biocides against biofouling in the aquaculture cage nets.
