ICAR–CIFT transfers ‘CIFT MicroBoost assisted Fish Manure Production Technology to Manaksia Agritech Private Limited, Kolkata

 

The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Kochi, has entered into a technology transfer agreement with Manaksia Agritech Private Limited, Kolkata, for the commercialization of the Fish Manure Production Technology using CIFT MicroBoost, a bacterial consortium-based innovation developed by the Institute for the efficient conversion of fish waste into value-added organic manure. 
 
The MoA was exchanged between Dr. George Ninan, Director, ICAR-CIFT, and Ms. Varalikka Manaksia, Director, Manaksia Agritech Private Limited.

The technology enables accelerated biodegradation, enhanced nutrient recovery, and environmentally sustainable waste management, thereby supporting circular economy principles and the adoption of eco-friendly agricultural inputs. CIFT MicroBoost is a bacterial consortium–based composting technology developed by ICAR-CIFT to strengthen waste management solutions within the fisheries and allied industries. 
Manaksia Agritech Private Limited is engaged in developing advanced agricultural solutions and promoting sustainable farming practices. Under the agreement, the company will undertake large-scale production, quality assurance, and market deployment of the technology, enabling its adoption across diverse agro-ecological regions. The partnership is expected to enhance the availability of eco-friendly fertilisers, reduce dependence on chemical inputs, and contribute to improved farm productivity and farmer incomes.

Union Minister Shri. Ram Nath Thakur Launches Innovative Startup Products from ICAR-CIFT

On January 5, 2026, Shri Ram Nath Thakur, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, launched innovative products developed by entrepreneurs at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT). The event, held at ICAR-CMFRI, was attended by Dr. George Ninan and Dr. C.O. Mohan.

The launch featured Collagen Honey Peanut Butter by Parayil Biofarm Pvt. Ltd., which combines premium peanuts and collagen to support joint health, gut wellness, and muscle recovery. The product is free from added sugar, preservatives, and artificial additives.

Additionally, Ready-to-Eat products from Fudcy Foods, developed using advanced retort processing, were introduced. These shelf-stable, preservative-free products maintain their nutritional value and taste at room temperature.

The event highlights ICAR-CIFT's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and delivering high-quality, nutritious food solutions.
