The Human Resource Development (HRD) Cell in association with the Quality Assurance and Management (QAM) Division of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Kochi, organized a four-day training programme on ‘Laboratory Management & Internal Audit as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017’ from 07 to 10 July 2026 at ICAR-CIFT, Kochi.

A total of 31 participants attended the training programme, including 13 external participants representing various organizations.

The training programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. George Ninan, Director, ICAR-CIFT. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the importance of implementing robust laboratory quality management systems, laboratory accreditation, and effective internal auditing in ensuring the credibility, reliability, and global acceptance of laboratory results. He highlighted ICAR-CIFT’s extensive expertise in laboratory quality management and its distinction as one of the leading NABL-accredited institutions, with more than 4,000 accredited scopes.

Dr. Remya S., Senior Scientist and Nodal Officer, HRD Cell, ICAR-CIFT welcomed the gathering. Dr. Niladri Sekhar Chatterjee, Senior Scientist, QAM Division and Programme Coordinator, presented a comprehensive overview of the training programme. The inaugural session concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Priya E. R., Co-Nodal Officer, HRD Cell, ICAR-CIFT, Kochi.
