Marine ecosystem is an untapped eservoir of biologically active compounds having significant bioactivities and is an important source of health supplements, nutraceuticals and functional foods. Realising their bioactive potential, extraction of bioactive compounds are being undertaken in a wider scale globally. In this regard, environmentally friendly extraction methods such as green chemistry methods are gaining significant momentum. The present training intended to give an overview on the significance of marine bioactive compounds and its green chemistry based extraction towards wider applications.
