ONE DAY WORKSHOP CONDUCTED ON 15/12/2025 UNDER DST MILLET PROJECT

ICAR–CIFT organized a one-day workshop on Entrepreneurship Development on Millet and Fish-Based Food Products under the DST Millet Project entitled “Development of millet-based novel ready-to-eat (RTE) smart functional foods fortified with fish protein and lipid for entrepreneurship development in the state of Kerala” on 15 December 2025. The programme was attended by 30 participants from various districts of Kerala, including millet entrepreneurs, farmers, and food processors.

The workshop started with an inaugural session, during which the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Bindu J, PI & HOD, Fish Processing Division. The presidential address was given by the Director, ICAR–CIFT, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Remya S, Co-PI & Senior Scientist, Fish Processing Division. This was followed by a lecture on “Introduction to Fish/Seaweed and Millet-Based Products” delivered by Dr. Remya S. Hands-on practical sessions on the preparation of aqua-millet and seaweed-based cookies, as well as millet–fish incorporated extruded products, were conducted by Mrs. Anu Mary Jose, Ms. Lekshmi S, and Mrs. Drishya K. A session highlighting the activities of the Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) Centre at ICAR–CIFT was handled by Mr. Lijin Nambiar. The programme concluded with a valedictory session and distribution of certificates to the participants.
