ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries technology, Cochin was the only institute among eight fisheries research institutes of ICAR, Fisheries Colleges across the country, Fisheries Departments of different states and other organizations related to fisheries in the country invited to present a talk in 12th Agriculture Science Congress held at Karnal, from 3rd to 6th February, 2015. The invited talk by Dr. C.N. Ravishankar Director, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin on ‘Low Cost Processing and Packaging Technologies for Small Scale Fish Producers’ was published in the Proceedings of the ASCas extended abstract. Due to preoccupation of the Director ICAR-CIFT the invited talk was delivered by Dr. M.M.Prasad, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFT Visakhapatnam Research Centre in Session 7: Mechanization & Post Harvest Technologies for Small Farmers from 1120 to 1140hrs on Day 3 of ASC i.e., 5th February, 2015. Dr.S. Ayyappan, Honourable Director General, ICAR and Secretary, DARE Govt. of India and host of dignitaries appreciatedthe participation of ICAR-CIFT in 12th ASC. Dr. Prasad participated in the sessions that included Session 10: Empowerment of women in agriculture Chaired by Dr.B. Meenakumari, DDG (Fy.), ICAR, New Delhi.
