ICAR-Central Institute of Fishing Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Cochin has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), an organization working with poor, self-employed women workers,. The MoU intends to carry out documentation of roles women play in fisheries and provide information for better formulation of rural employment strategies for the conservation of rights and access to aquatic resources for the sustenance of livelihoods. The MoU was signed by Director, ICAR-CIFT, Dr. C.N. Ravishankar and Coordinator SEWA, Dr. Sonia George. Dr. Nikita Gopal and Dr. Geroge Ninan Principal Scientists of the Institute were also present on the occasion.
